Picking an NFL team at random
This wheel covers all 32 NFL franchises across both conferences. Random team selection comes up constantly in fantasy drafts, pick'em pools, and video game franchise modes — and it's also how a surprising number of people choose a team to follow when they have no local side. Randomising removes the endless bandwagon deliberation.
Common uses
- Choosing a team to support with no prior allegiance
- Franchise mode in Madden or a similar game
- Assigning teams for a pool, sweepstake, or draft order
- Settling friendly arguments about who picks first
Notes
- All 32 teams are included with equal odds — 16 AFC and 16 NFC.
- For a conference-only draw, build a custom wheel with just those 16 teams.
- For sweepstakes, spin once per participant and remove each result to avoid duplicates.
- If you're picking a team to actually follow, consider spinning three times and choosing from those — random shortlist, human final call.
All 32 teams on the wheel, by division

Odds on the NFL team wheel
Every segment is the same size, so each spin is an independent 1-in-32 draw.
| What you want | Chance per spin |
|---|---|
| One specific team | 1 in 32 (3.1%) |
| Any team from a given division | 4 in 32 (12.5%) |
| An AFC team (or an NFC team) | 16 in 32 (50%) |
| The same team twice in a row | 1 in 32 (3.1%) |
| A specific team at least once in 10 spins | about 27% |
Using the wheel to set fantasy draft order
Put every manager's name on a custom wheel instead of team names. Spin once: the result picks first. Remove that name and spin again for pick two, and keep going until one name is left — that manager picks last.
Removing each result is what makes it fair. If you re-spin with everyone still on the wheel, you can land on the same person twice and need a re-roll, which invites arguments about which spin counted.
For a snake draft, only the first round needs to be drawn. The order reverses each round automatically.
Random NFL team challenges
Content creators use a random team for Madden franchise rebuilds, 'spin to pick my jersey' videos, and weekly pick'em challenges where the wheel chooses which team you must back. Spinning on screen proves the choice was not cherry-picked.
To make a challenge harder, spin twice and take the team with the worse record, or build a wheel of only the teams that missed the playoffs last season.
Frequently asked questions
How does the nfl team wheel work?
Click Spin and the wheel spins to a random segment, landing on one option. Every spin is independent and fair — the wheel has no memory, so you get a genuinely random result each time. Spin as many times as you like.
Can I add or remove options?
Yes. Click Edit options to customize this wheel — add your own choices, remove ones you don't want, or start from scratch. Your changes stay until you refresh the page.
What is the nfl team wheel good for?
People use it for picking a random team to support, deciding fantasy draft order, a 'pick a team' YouTube or Twitch challenge, or settling an argument between friends. It's a quick, fair way to pick when you can't decide.
Is it really random?
Yes — each spin uses your browser's random number generator to choose the landing segment, so every option has an equal chance. Nothing is weighted or rigged.
